To begin a new project....or not?

I hate our kitchen.  It's small, our appliances suck, the counter tops are ugly and the cabinets are just blah.  I read this article in Better Homes and Gardens about a kitchen remodel for $3200.  The family in the articles biggest expense was the island and appliances.  We couldn't do an island, due to how small our kitchen is, but an upgrade in appliances really is a must.  It's so refreshing and pretty!

Here are my reservations about tackling this project.
   1. Not sure how much longer we will be in this house.  Is it worth it? It could add value to the house though....

  2. Time.  Holy cow, this is going to take some time.

  3. Disaster zone.  Our house is a disaster with twins as it is.  Do I really want to have more of a tornado then I already have?

To do or not to do?  Here are the pictures:

Here's a blog that gives pointers on painting cabinets.

  1. We contemplated the same thing when we redid our kitchen in Topeka. Be sure to stay within a reasonable range for the price of your house especially since you'll be looking to sell at some point in the near future. The biggest bang for your buck...new counters, backsplash, and maybe painting cabinets.
