Summer and Six Weeks

Miss Brooke is six weeks old! I don't know if it's because it's summer or if time is just escaping us just because.Brooke is a sweetheart. One baby is soo different than two. I can see how people right away would say yeah we will have more kids.

I can't imagine life without Lauren and Reese, but twins was REALLY hard in comparison to one! I actually get sleep, I can make meals, shower, and do many other things that I just couldn't get done with newborn twins.

Brooke is a good eater. She usually takes long sleeps in the morning and late afternoon. She has her last feeding between 8-9:30 and then wakes to eat about 3, then wakes up about 7:30. This changes depending on her mood, but has been consistent for a week.

Here are some pics from our summer happenings. I'm so glad I get to stay home with her a little longer. I will go back to work the day after Labor Day!
We celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday on Saturday. It was a fun day to be around family and celebrate such a special woman. Here is our generation picture.

Baby Campbell- 32 weeks

Baby girl will be here in about 8 weeks! It seems like it has taken FOREVER, then all of a sudden time has sped up!

I still need to get her room ready and get the newborn clothes out! Between birthday parties, Easter, and Weddings, our weekends have been booked. My goal is that this will get accomplished next weekend!

I'm feeling pretty good. I haven't been very hungry lately, probably running out of room. Although I feel really big, I'm measuring at 31 weeks. I'm curious if I will make it to 40 weeks. Full term with twins is 37 weeks and I made it to 38 weeks and 3 days and voluntarily was induced. I don't really want to be induced this time around, but who knows if I will change my tune later.

I'm excited to cuddle my little baby girl and experience this miracle!

New House

I am so excited to be in our home! We sold our old home in about 2 weeks in March and were out at the end of April last year. We lived with our parents since this time. They all were great hosts and so thankful for them!

So...now for the pictures. We don't have the house completely put together and are still looking for new furniture and decor pieces, so for now, it's a little bare. There are also a few things the builders need to finish, like our post in the front.

Front of house

Had to have a KState purple door!
Front entry with closet.
One of the two bedrooms in the front of the house. The girls refuse to be apart. It's rather sweet! Yes the E's fell off.
Hallway into the living room.
Kitchen and island.

Pantry. It looks small, but there's quite a bit of room and storage.
Dining area.
Part of living room. Love thus railing!
More living room. Everything is very open.

Bathroom 1 the girls share.

Drop zone and cubbies in laundry room.
Laundry off of garage.

Master bath. The wall color is a light blue. Think beach.
More master bath.
Walk-in shower.

Don't judge...walk in closet off of master bath. It's glorious and still getting organized:)

Master bedroom is a disaster. I'll invite you over later to see this later!

To the walk out basement!

Mini bar and a kid play area under the stairs. We don't have basement furniture now, but there's a huge great room and a bathroom. 2 future bedrooms and unfinished storage.
Backyard and deck.

I can't wait to host soon!

Quilting

I come from a long line of quilters. My great, great gma, great gma, grandma and mother and aunt are all very talented quilters. If you would have asked me even a couple of years ago if I would turn into a quilter, I would have said no. However, now that I have made my first piece, I think I'm hooked.

My grandma, mom and sister in law all took a quilting class in Burlingame, KS on Saturday to have some girl time.  I made a large table runner. It took me 5 hours. Those 5 hours went fast. It makes me appreciate all of the quilts my mom and grandma have made for me and my family, as those took many hours.  I now know how much love, sweat and time all of them took.  I hope I can continue in the tradition and become as good of a quilter as the strong women in my family.

Now, I just need to buy a sewing machine...details.

Sledding and Snow Fun

Our two snow days were well spent. Lanny was off of work as well, so we just had two extra family days, which were priceless. The girls love the snow, although I do need to invest in getting them some snow bibs next year.

September 17: A memory you would love to relive.

I have so many fond memories that I would love to relive, but if I had to pick one, I would pick my wedding day! So much love, fun, happiness and fond memories with all of my friends and family in one spot! What a wonderful day to start the rest of our lives together!
Whenever Lanny and I go to a wedding, we always say, ours was the best.
